WORST COUNCILLORS FOR ATTENDANCE: NORTH GREENFORD DESERVES BETTER

North Greenford ward is officially the ward with the worst record of attendance by its councillors in the Borough. Official figures agreed by the three party whips and published on Ealing Council website

http://www.ealing.gov.uk/services/council/councillors/ reveal that North Greenford’s three Labour councillors ranked 68th, 67th and 54th out of Ealing’s 69 councillors for 2008/09. Only the notorious Virendra Sharma MP from Norwood Green has a worse record of attendance than two of the North Greenford councillors.

Conservative Group Chief Whip, Cllr John Popham said that North Greenford residents were clearly missing out on effective representation by not having councillors who were prepared to attend meetings.

He said:

“Councillors are elected to represent the views of their residents in the council's decision making process. If councillors are absent they cannot represent their electors. It is clear that the people of North Greenford are being let down. I look forward to the election of three Conservative councillors in May next year to represent the ward."

NOTE: Thirteen councillors have perfect 100% attendance records. They are all Conservatives.
